RUSS BURROUGHS
HEAD TRAINER (available Sept-May)
Russ Burroughs is the Head Coach of the Wilmington Sharks in the Coastal Plain League, one of the premier collegiate summer baseball leagues in the country. He is the all-time winningest manager in Wilmington Sharks history, a two-time CPL Champion (2024, 2026), and the 2026 CPL Coach of the Year.
Throughout his coaching career, Russ has helped develop more than 50 players who have gone on to sign professional contracts. He has also coached numerous MLB organization players, World Baseball Classic representatives, College World Series participants, and CPL All-Stars. Prior to taking over in Wilmington, Russ served as the Head Coach of the Edenton Steamers.
Russ played collegiately at Lipscomb University before playing four seasons of professional baseball, including one season internationally. During his playing career, he competed as both a relief pitcher and designated hitter.
As Head Trainer at Nashville Baseball Academy, Russ is involved in all aspects of player development. His approach extends beyond mechanics and performance, working closely with players and their families to create individualized, long-term development plans designed to prepare athletes for success at the next level.

PARKS BOUCK
HITTING / FIELDING
Originally from Texas, Parks was a 3 year starter for Lipscomb University. His primary positions were short stop and outfielder. During his time at Lipscomb, he received All Conference Honors. He was an assistant coach for Montgomery Bell Academy. Professionally, he played in the MLB Draft League and for the Czech Republic National baseball team. Parks has experience working with athletes of all ages and is excited to help your player improve.

TIM BARKER

Tim Barker is a Raleigh, NC, native and a 2003 graduate of West Virginia State University, where he earned Academic All-American honors and led the nation in fielding percentage (.998) in 2002. After college, he transitioned into coaching and leadership, serving as Director of Operations for West Raleigh Baseball Association in 2003, where the 12U team won the Cal Ripken National Championship. From 2004 to 2006, he was the Lead Instructor at Grand Slam Baseball Academy, mentoring young athletes and personally training and developing multiple college and professional players, both past and present.

DANIEL KROGER
PITCHING

In 2011, Daniel was selected Mr. Baseball for the state of Alabama while winning the state championship at Huntsville High. High School Louisville Slugger All-American pitcher. Played 3 years at Auburn and a summer in Cape Cod as a starter. Additionally, 1 year at UAH before being drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2015. Played 2 and a half years of pro ball in Grand Junction, Boise, and Asheville.

PAM FOWLER

Pam was an All-Star pitcher and short-stop for the University of Iowa.​She is our longest tenured trainer with over 15 years of working with softball players at NBA.​Her dedication makes her a forever member of our training staff.

STEVE CHERRICO
HITTING / FIELDING
Steve is the Co-Owner of Nashville Baseball Academy with over 24 years of coaching a variety of players in all age groups. He has experience with both baseball and softball athletes. He runs nashville team sports, the travel teach branch of NBA. Additionally, he oversees the Crieve Hall Baseball League which serves over 1,000 ballplayers in Middle Tennessee.

ELLA BERTUCCI
HITTING / FIELDING
Ella Bertucci is a rising senior at Belmont University, known for her speed and versatility. As a left-handed hitter who can both slap and swing away, she creates constant pressure on defenses. She has been a key contributor at Belmont, including the Bruins’ 2025 Missouri Valley Conference championship-winning season.

Originally from River Ridge, Louisiana, Ella helped lead St. Mary’s Dominican High School to a state championship and was nationally ranked among the top 100 outfielders in her graduating class.
